Memorial

As most know 2006 was a year of deaths in our family. On this day last year Aunt Tib Bell (Kathy's aunt) passed away. This is in memory of her as she was to the "7" and to all of us a wonderful lady. Many will remember her with fond memories.

SARAH E. "TIB" BELL
May 31, 1924 - January 11, 2006

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Sarah (Tib) on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Providence Place. Sarah (Tib, as she was known to many) was born on the family farm near Bateman, Sask., on May 31, 1924 , to John and Eliza Bell. She was the second oldest in a family of four, having one brother, Allan and two sisters, Margaret and Amy. Sarah never married and thoroughly loved her career as a teacher. She began her 35-year teaching career at McCord, and from there went on to teach in Avonlea, Edenwold, Regina and Moose Jaw, retiring from Alexander School in Moose Jaw in 1978. Sarah was a long time member of the Church of Christ, a wonderful Sunday school teacher for many, many years. Tib enjoyed reading, knitting, nature, walking, looking after her yard--especially her dahlias, which she shared with many friends. What she enjoyed the most though, was times spent with family and friends, and especially family get-togethers at the Fowler farm. After a bout with cancer in 1957, Sarah moved from Regina to Moose Jaw to live with her parents. After recovering from her cancer, she began teaching in Moose Jaw. As her parents aged, she became their care-giver, looking after both of them in her home until their passing. Tib is survived by her siblings, Allan Bell - Moose Jaw, Margaret (John) Forman - Chilliwack, BC and Amy Fowler - Moose Jaw. Also her nieces and nephews: Allan and Edna Bell’s children: John Bell, James Bell, Ruth Bell, David (Cheryl) Bell, Sarah Bell, Brenda Bell, Fred Perry; John and Margaret Forman’s children: Velma Forman, Alice (Lindsay) Peterson, Joan (Steward) Gould, Shirley (Steve) Clarkson, Debbie (Jerry) Roy, Jack (Barb) Forman, Maureen (Lanny) Matkin; and George and Amy Fowler’s children: Kathy (Lew) Young, Linda (Dan) Goud, and George (Terri-Lynn) Fowler. Sarah was predeceased by her parents, John (1969) and Eliza (1982) Bell, her brother-in-law, George Fowler, sister-in-law, Edna Bell; niece Elizabeth (Bell) Perry and nephew Sam Bell. Sarah was a lady of great integrity and honesty. While her family will miss her terribly, we know that she has fulfilled her journey and is now at peace—whole mentally and physically. For that we rejoice! The Funeral Service was held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 1:30 p.m.

A nice Tribute to a wonderful lady-
Tib has had a special place in our hearts for some 53 years, even to her, and Auntie Lou being our first Baby Sitters for one who would eventually come to be her nephew, by marriage. As for me (Irene)I knew Tib since her teaching days in the McCord area, especially while she taught at Lark Hill.
Tib was a "friend" who truly cared, had a good sense of humor,a warm smile, nevering seeming to have a poor me attidude and one who lived her life as a Christian Women to the upmost.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of us who loved her.

Nice Tribute. I can't believe that it has been a year already. Time seems to fly at sometimes & stand still at others. I think of your family often thinking how rough your 2006 was. As you know ours was rough as well but we strive to move on. In memory of my grandparents Thanks once again for all the both of you did for our family! It will never be forgotten. Stay warm today on this terribly cold day. Crystal
