Amy's Progress
Last Wednesday Amy went to Regina to be there for her surgery on Thursday. The nurses and Doctor there where very informative and took the time to indicate what the procedure would be and how it would be administered. Thursday afternoon around 4-5 they did the surgery, or as some called it the procedure of lifting and glueing (click on the photo) the spine to help releive the pain of the nerves being pinced or damaged. Here is the website of this proceure which will explain much better than I. http://www.kyphon.com/ The person is not out but very heavily sedated and I am sure froze in the area for the insertion of the insturments. We saw Amy right after the procedure and was with her in the recpvery/observation area after. Then at 8pm that night they transfered her back to the hospital in Moose Jaw. The next day when we saw her it was nice to see that she was begging to eat some solid foods and to know it was staying down. Sounds like the next steps are to get her up (after 5 weeks) and begin some form of phsio..

I checked out the web site and found it very intersting and how a simple procedure can help in being able to return to a normal life style. What a wonderful age we live in with so many new remidies.
